About Kindred Impact

Hi, I’m Megs – the human behind Kindred Impact.

I’m an educator, researcher, accessibility specialist and visual storyteller. But beyond the professional labels, I’m a deeply reflective, neurodivergent woman trying to understand what it means to build a meaningful life without burning myself out in the process.
For a long time, I thought healing would eventually turn me into someone who had everything figured out. Someone calmer, more certain and less afraid. After years of therapy, difficult conversations and uncomfortable self-reflection, I’ve realised that life doesn’t really work like that.
Growth isn’t a linear transformation from broken to healed. Sometimes it looks like courage and clarity. Sometimes it means recognising that the ways you learned to survive might also be keeping you from fully living. I believe it involves unlearning narratives that were never yours to carry in the first place, and finding a home within.
Kindred Impact is where I write honestly about these contradictions.
Here, you’ll find personal reflections on neurodivergence, accessibility, ambition, identity, loneliness, burnout and the strange gap between the life we imagined and the life we are actually living. I draw upon my work in education and disability, my research, my experiences of ADHD, and the many versions of myself I’ve met along the way.
I have been the insecure child, the teenager searching for her worth in all the wrong places and the twenty-something convinced she was always falling behind. I’ve built a career around supporting other people while quietly struggling to offer myself the same understanding. I’ve moved across the world in search of a bigger life, only to discover that changing your surroundings doesn’t automatically free you from the patterns you carry within them.
I’m not writing because I have found all the answers. I’m writing because I’m finally asking the questions honestly, showing up as an imperfect and incomplete human – which is mega scary for a perfectionist!
This isn’t a space that will tell you how to perfect yourself, optimise your life or heal in ten simple steps. It’s a place for thoughtful exploration, uncomfortable truths, messy progress and the experiences we often carry alone. A place where professional knowledge can sit alongside personal vulnerability, and where accessibility, creativity and the human experience are always connected.
My hope is simple: that something you find here makes you think, helps you understand yourself differently or reminds you that you aren’t the only person still figuring it all out.
Welcome to Kindred Impact.
You belong here, kindred spirit.
