Hi Kindred Spirits!

Kindred Impact: The Vision Behind the Space

When we hear conversations around healing, therapy and transformation, there is a common assumption that this journey is one of continual light bulb moments and realisation as we heal wounds… but there are moments in healing that no one talks about. The space between who you used to be, and who you are now becoming. The versions of you that co-exist in the wounded and transformed. This space can be confusing yet comforting, inspiring but exhausting – because healing is not a linear path, but is a continual process of unlearning damaging beliefs, building trust within yourself and others, and slowly stepping into a life that feels like yours again, or perhaps for the first time.

I created Kindred Impact because I am deeply familiar with this space in between. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to wonder if things will ever truly change, to drown in a sea of self-help content that makes it seem like everyone else has it figured out. But real healing? It’s messy. It’s nonlinear, and most importantly, it’s not meant to be done alone.

Despite all we see on social media about ‘locking in’ and disappearing to work on ourselves, this is a journey where connection is crucial. I know this, because after years of therapy and semi hiding myself and my journey away, one thing has remained the same – healing has always happened in the presence and love of others. In moments of being seen, in conversations that unraveled me in spaces where I felt safe enough to soften. Growth isn’t about isolating yourself until you’re “fixed”, it’s about learning to exist fully, alongside others, as you navigate the in-between.

And guess what? I’m still in this in-between too. Despite what social media may tell you, moving to Australia doesn’t fix all your problems, but I’m figuring it out as I go, messy, imperfect, and human. Kindred Impact is the corner of the internet I’ve needed while navigating my own journey… where healing isn’t about looking like having it all together but feeling into what your authentic happiness, peace and contentment looks like – (yes, even if that looks different to the wellness trends online)!

This is a space for those of us navigating that in-between. It’s a space for self-compassion, emotional alchemy, and choosing to live authentically—even when it feels scary.

Why Kindred Impact?

The word “Kindred” reflects connection, relation and commonality – because at our heart and soul, we are all just humans trying to figure this out. We are in an age where conversations around mental health, trauma healing and collective awakening are ongoing, yet the systems and structures in place for those suffering are inadequate. This means that people must rely more on free resources and alternative education to learn about wellbeing.

However, if you’re anything like me and find these online spaces utterly overwhelming, Kindred Impact aims to be a place where you can slow down, breathe and gain grounded insights. Although I am not a mental health professional, I am a 26 year old woman that is also figuring it out alongside you, providing you insight and reflections into my personal experiences of therapy, spirituality and personal transformation.

That brings us to the “Impact” sentiment of this blog; I hope that my words can speak to something deeper than just personal healing. It’s about the ripple effect – how our own self-work, compassion and courage both inspire and nurture those around us. For those of you that are seeking that comfort, someone you can relate to… I hope this space has a positive impact on you, your self-image and life long journey of growth and expansion ❤

As a researcher, university lecturer and specialist in disability, I also value and understand the importance of creating accessible online spaces, to provide access to information to communities who may typically be excluded. Kindred Impact therefore blends personal experience, academic research and community outreach to ensure that you can gain reliable and robust research insights into the topics discussed.

Healing isn’t about reaching some perfect version of yourself—it’s about learning to be with yourself, as you are, in every stage of the process. It’s about making room for joy, even in the midst of uncertainty and discomfort.

So, if you’ve ever felt stuck, lost, or like you’re “behind” in life—this space is for you. If you feel like you’re so stuck in bad habits or a comfort zone and even though you have every intention of changing and evolving yet don’t, you are not alone.

You are not broken. And you don’t have to figure it all out overnight.

You belong here, kindred spirit! This is your sanctuary for transforming fear into freedom, for becoming familiar with the person you are, and always have been.

I’m so excited to have you here. Welcome home!

Giving Yourself Permission to Dream Big

I have felt a huge shift over the last three years, specifically in relation to my ambition, drive and inner dreamer. My friends and family all know me as someone who has always rejected ‘reality’ and how things ‘should be done’. My mum has a running joke that I will always take the most complicated…

Rejection is Redirection

Hi everyone! Long time no speak Since moving to Australia, I’ve continued working with my UK student clients remotely. It’s meant adapting to a new routine – working late evenings and long shifts, while trying to live a normal daytime life. I genuinely love the work, but I’ve realised recently that the way I’ve been…

Holding Two Things At Once: Hormones & Homesickness

The past two weeks, I’ve been sitting with two very real, very conflicting feelings: deep gratitude for the life I’m building here in Australia, and deep longing for the family and life I left behind in the UK. I have so many contrasting goals in both the UK and Australia and it feels utterly confusing.…
